Sometimes you just don’t know what to say
Sometimes I don’t have any words.
It has been a very long two weeks. Not just because of the professional changes going on in my life (we’ll get to those at another time) but because in the past two weeks, I have received word that a friend of mine lost her husband in a motorcycle crash, friends of my family lost their son (who I went to school with) in an accident and now, despite the fact that we all knew it was probably coming, my aunt lost my baby cousin who was 2 years old. She was born with health problems from the get go and truthfully, I don’t understand a lot of it, other than she was born with mowat-wilson syndrome and suffered from seizures and had to have feeding tubes and whatnot.
It goes without saying that Baby Jill will no longer suffer as she probably had been, but it doesn’t make getting that news any easier. I can’t even begin to imagine what my aunt must be feeling and thinking but she is in my thoughts because though her road since Jill was born has been tough, this must certainly be even tougher.
This is when being far away is hard.
This is me, holding Jill just a month or so after she was born. I like this picture a lot.

I heart football season
I’m so ready for football season. I went to football camp every day and sweated in the hot August New Orleans sun (not as much as the guys but still) and we have an ESPN game Friday night and I.cannot.wait.
In other news, I talked to one of the guys I work with in the video department and told him I had a vision for a “highlight” video and I’ll be damned if he didn’t totally create my vision.
Kudos Rob McDougald, kudos.
