Rallying on my last night

Since Saturday was my last night in town (technically Sunday is but I will be asleep since I leave for the airport at 3:30am!), I rallied for a night on the town. I finished a section of my media guide then showered up for some entertainment at Trancas Steakhouse’s Karaoke Night. I showed up to meet my brother and his buddies, only to find that apparently Trancas was the place to be on Saturday night! I ran into a few of my old high school football coaches, Megan and JHart showed up which was awesome and saw a bunch of other people I hadn’t seen in a while. Though I had forgotten that bars actually close here and was shocked when last call rolled around before 2am, I had a good night!

My happy food place

It has been made apparent to me that the one thing that New Orleans is lacking is quality Mexican food. And by quality, I mean cheap, greasy, they-probably-don’t-use-vegetables Mexican food. I have had a couple of places in the Boot that are pretty good but there is nothing like Taqueria Rosita. So in response to that, while I was home, I went. Twice. The second time was last night. My deluxe chicken burrito was still delicious.

Post-dress shopping, Amanda, Aleah and I picked up Ben and cruised by the outlets. It was there that an adorable red dress that was displayed in the window called my name. Aleah and I went in and I tried it on. I promptly fell in love with it and bought it, not having an occassion in which to wear it, yet not able to return it to the rack because it was too darn cute.

By then, we had worked up an appetite and picked up The Donald before heading to Taqueria. We also made Donny show us his Olympic Medal. After he gave us lots of candy since he is sponsored by Hershey’s.

Yep that is a real live Olympic Medal

Then we went to dine so I could get my Mexican food fix. And I cleaned my plate. And it was a large burrito (none of this baby-size stuff, I wasn’t messing around.)

Bridesmaid Day with AJ

AJ is getting married (to Ben–three cheers for high school romance. I have the high school dance pics to prove it!) in September and since Christmas was the only time that we would all be together before the wedding, we spent the day selecting bridesmaid dressed in Concord. I was the *lucky* winner who modeled all the dresses before coming up with a “good pile” (as opposed to the “no way are we wearing that” pile) and once that good pile was established, we all tried them on to make sure all the bridesmaids (me, Aleah and Julia) looked presentable.

And the results:

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I got to see (most of) my family last night for Christmas Eve and have successfully posted all the photos on shutterfly. Here’s a few in the meantime. Hope Santa was good to everyone!

Rockin the house

I can’t believe I forgot the best part of the Fancy Pants party! JHart brought guitar and played a few songs while we sang along. It was awesome. I don’t know how his wife Sarah does it. I would make him play every day. All the time. She has good self-control.
